Lost Animals
If your pet has gone missing we recommend taking the following steps:-
- Call all local vets and leave your details.
- Ring the RSPCA National 24 hr Control Centre on 0300 1234 999 and leave your pets details on the Lost/Found Register, where they will be kept for one month.
- Ring your Local Authority Dog Warden (if applicable).
- Ring local animal Charities such as ourselves.
- Distribute posters in your local area, including shop windows
- Ring your local radio station
- Place an advert in local papers.
- Enter your Pet on the National Pet Register (click the Dog or Cat link on the left).
- Refer to our National Website for a list of further contacts.
Remember to keep a note of who you have contacted so that you can inform them when your pet is found.
Remember that the majority of missing pets are found and that micro-chipping your pet in the first place will make it easier.
